Today I was lucky to find an interesting Sciomyzid - Pherbellia calthrata.
I have never seen it before even in collection.

You should try near small streams! They prefer aquatic habitats.

i know that, Gabor. I tried to find them near small streamers, but so far I didn?t spot them. Doli and ephydrids (and muscids) are in huge numbers here, near small streamers.

1. As far as understand English sream means fast flowing water. In this case it isn't good place to look for Sciomyzidae. Calm water or pools with grass or simply shadow places are much better.
2. I misspeled, correct name Pherbellia clathrata

Not sure if it will help but I quite often find sciomyzids sitting low-down on leaves but hardly ever on flowers. Recently I have seen quite a few sitting on grass and low vegetation on chalk grassland, near the river Thames.
