Can anything be said of this Simuliidae? At least can genus
Simulium be confirmed? Thanks in advance!! :)
Found by a river in mixed woodland in the outskirts of madrid on 23.03.2014.

Simulium.
I do not know how to identify most European subgenera. The color pattern could be the
ornatum group except what is visible of the gonostylus looks wrong. Compare

Thanks a lot, John!! I am very happy just knowing that this is indeed genus
Simulium :) Not complaining if somebody can go further though ;) but
Simulium sp. is great :) :)
