Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachina fera ?

Assume this large (about 15mm body length) fly is Tachina fera ? First time I've spotted one of these- taken Yesterday South Coast UK. Oic taken in natural light.

Certainly looks like an early T.fera - well spotted :) They are double-brooded but normally the first broods are in quite low numbers (as in P.hemiptera). I have seen the T.fera spring brood before and although this does seem an early year I think it was fairly in-sync with the current batch of flowering plants (cowslips, violets etc)
