It's much better if you post the photos to the forum directly ... Flickr is down so they are not visible and clicking on links isn't as fun as just seeing the images right here ;)

It's a syrphid ... possibly Syrphus but I will let the experts judge ;)
By grabbing the BBCode on Flickr you can display the images themselves - as above ;)

Thanks. I'll go with Eupeodes sp., at least until someone else can find a photo, etc. of what possible species-level it could be, given my area in the Pacific Northwest, USA.
