Absolutely an Oedalea, I think a O. tibialis, though I often feel very uncertain when dealing with this genus. Like Bicellaria not so easy. I need a bigger collection in order to get much more acquainted with this kind of genera.

I do not think tibialis, but without my key at hand I cannot say which species. The tip of the hind femur is also darkened and the fore and mid legs are partly brownish.

Here in the office I have no access to the literature. I remember yesterday that I hesitated because the 3rd segment of the antennae looks so long, yet.....
When I get Oedaleas I practically always have to compare them with the specimens in my collection. And even then I am often not 100% sure.
Maybe not a bad idea to have my Oedalea collection checked by somebody, who is working on revisions or so. I have a quite a collection now.

Ruud, I'd be happy to look at your Oealea collections. The Dutch ones are mostly quite straightforward, going to central and southern Europe it gets more tricky, I admit.

Scandinavia should be well-covered by Chvála's Fauna Ent. Scand. key...

Based on the genitalia and most of its general appearance it is Oedalea flavipes. The aberrant part is the hind metatarsus which should be pale at the base , rather than completely dark.

Paul, I received an Oedalea specimen from Dick. It is a beautiful O. hybotina. The markings on the wing are very obvious. The fly on the photo is another specimen; the fly here has the apical half of the hind femur blackish.
