At the edge of a riparian forest, near the sea, in a temperate climate zone. Four species are known in Galicia: Blepharicera fasciata, Liponeura cinerascens, L. angelieri and L. isabellae (described in the area) "Macroinvertebrados de las aguas dulces de Galicia- M.A. González González, Fernando Cobo Gradín (2006)".
