Stratiomyidae. Key in MND leads me to Sarginae, possibly Merosargus.

Thanks for the ID John.
I see there are only 2 species in NA and BugGuide has images of M. caeruleifrons which does not match my specimen.
By default my specimen must be M. cingulatus.
The key character separating Merosargus from Ptecticus is the shape of the pedicel margin, finger-like extension in Ptecticus and convex in Merosargus.
