Cheilosia are really difficult to identify for me....
is this one recognizable at a species level?

Where and when did you take the photographs? How big was the fly? It might be a male of Cheilosia canicularis, but this species is active in summer (around August). There are similar spring species that are difficult to tell apart. Please give more information, Cheilosia is a very difficult genus.

I'm sorry to forget all these important datas.

This photography was taken in early spring : April 8th, 2013

it was a quite big fly : 12 mm (estimate)

the photography was taken in Dinard (Brittany)
