I found these Neriidae some days ago. Several of them (at least 6 specimens) were sitting together on some hanging lianas of 1-3 cm. I first thought them to be males and females, but I now think they might actually be two different species. Help appreciated!
Suriname, Paramaribo, Weg naar Zee. III-2013. Near large gap inside secondary forest.
Thanks in advance,

The last might be
Glyphidops flavifrons. The others could be some other
Glyphidops; if not probably
Nerius. A key to species of the Brazilian Amazon may be useful:

With your notice that they are indeed two different species, I followed the key and find the second specimen (last photo) has several elements which might place it out of the key (light-coloured part of the arista <1/5, legs light brown). The first species keys out to
Nerius pilifer. I'll try to contact the authors of the key to confirm this.
Thanks you very much for your help!

I just received an answer from Mr. Fernando S. Carvalho-Filho, first author of the key. It turns out that the first two photos indeed show
Nerius pilifer. The last photo is of some
Glyphidops, a genus in which species identification can only be done with the use of several details which are not all visible even on the uncompressed photo.

The last photo, at least, would make a good addition to the gallery, which has neither
Nerius nor
Glyphidops.

Okay, I don't have problems with that. This would be the first time I got something for the gallery, so I'd like to know how to proceed. I just checked the gallery FAQs, and it seems that the maximum size there is 150kB. I guess that means I got to shrink the picture a bit. And then? Should I post it in this thread again or should I somehow submit it directly to the gallery?
Best regards,
