These days I'm seeing these flies in herbs and ground at the edge of the deciduous forest (Castanea, Laurus, Quercus, Corylus, Salix...). They are running almost all the time and jumping from grass to another, almost never fly. In Fauna Europaea only appear three species in Spain: T. annulipes, T. minor and T. putris, by the mid tarsi in the male I think is annulipes, also by the yellow in the bases of the mid and hind femora ...

Today (03 March,2013), in NW Spain, temperate climate near the sea.
