Pictures taken near Szeged, S. Hungary, on 04.05.2012. I think it a a male of Stratiomys singularior. Is this correct?
Thanks for any comments in advance!

Could this be anything else?

I realized now that the eyes are hairy! Would that make this a male of S. longicornis?

S. longicornis is rather bee-like and has no white markings at the abdomen (see http://diptera.in...pid=148863).
The gallery photo of the S. singularior male (http://www.dipter...to_id=1531) shows hairy eyes, too. So why not this species? I am no expert, however...

Thanks a lot for your answer! Of course, S. singularior was my candidate too, but I've read somewhere (I don't remember where:|) that southern populations of S. longicornis may have whitish spots on abdomen, that's why I've become hesitant...
Best regards,
Henrik

P. S.: Would you also be able to have a look at this fly:
