Hello!
Could this fly be Suillia bicolor? Size 7-8 mm, found in woods near Stuttgart (Germany.) Unfortunately, I have only this one photo.

If you mean 8 mm is wings included, body should be 5 mm.

It's a male of Suillia cf. bicolor . The best diagnostic character of this species is a small ventral hook at the tip of first metatarsus (=basitarus) on fore leg. Andrzej
