Thread subject: Diptera.info :: tachinid04 in Inverclyde, Scotland > Sarcophagidae

This struck me as different from my previous post (another black tachinid...), presenting a more structured arrangement of spines on its abdomen. Taken at Glen Moss SWT, Kilmacolm, Inverclyde. Aug 20 2012. Only angle I have.

Reminds me of Metopia sp., Sarcophagidae.

Yes, I was puzzled because it looks like Sarcophagidae but I don't usually see them with strong facial ridge bristles.

On the contrary, it is a Tachinid-like Sarcophagid ;)
