Elachiptera bimaculata (Loew, 1845) (Chloropidae) with its typical form of the short scutellum, its well separated yellow apical projections and the 2 prominent longer orbital bristles. In the Mediterranean this very abundant species is extremely variable concerning its body colour and its dark markings.
