Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Hybotidae - Symballophthalmus?

I have keyed this to Symballophthalmus, but cannot match it to any of the three British species in Collin's work. So the obvious question is - have I correctly identified the genus?

Note: the eyes meet on frons in this female specimen.

Although I have never seen species of this genus myself, it looks like Symballlophthalmus fuscitarsis to me. The basal antennal segments seem to be yellow. It that indeed the case?

Thank you Jan,
This specimen has dark third antennal segment, contrasting with yellow first and second.

I have gone back to the key and I now see that I mis-interpreted one couplet - I read "achrostichals present" as "acrostichals absent" (three times!). It was late and I was tired. Very tired evidently :)

This is S. scapularis in Collin 1962 - a synonym of S. fuscitarsis.
