Can it be confirmed that it is
Thaumatomyia notata? Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a good (or bad :o ) lateral view :( so I guess it will remain
Thaumatomyia sp.
Taken in the mountains of Madrid, by a rivulet in pine woods on September the 2nd 2012.
Thanks!! :)

If it has 2 rows of hairs along lateral margins and also height of genae below eyes not exceeding half width of 3rd segment of antennae, yeah, that is notata species. Unfortunately I can't see clear these characters into the pics. :o

And I am afraid it cannot be seen in the original pics, either in any other shots :( My best pictures of a
Thaumatomyia, I just wanted to give them a try just in case something beyond
Thaumatomyia sp. could be said ;)
Thanks a lot for your input, Sara :)

I agree with Sara, Thaumatomyia ? notata. Compare the comments on many other diptera.info photographs of reliably identified T. notata.
