I think this might be a male
Muscina levida. Is this correct?

Muscina is correct.

Interesting.
Muscina pascuorum is not listed in the NBN Gateway nor in the Muscidae volume of the RHS Handbook. However, it is listed in the checklist at Dipterists Forum which includes a note saying "Restored from Excluded Species by Skidmore & Pont (2008)". Were these flies previously included in another species?

It seems to me that palpi are rather yellow? In this case:

Yes, I did notice that other pictures of
pascuorum had reddish bases to their antennae (a bit like
prolapsa but not as noticable). Thanks, anyway.
