Hello all,

Would it be too hasty to call this fly Heleomyza captiosa/serrata ?
There were many of them in a cave at Ramioul, Belgium. Today September 8th.
Most of them, by the way, had been killed by a fungus.
Thanks in advance for your help
Philippe

First tarsomere of hin leg is very short. I'm not sure which taxon it is ...
It could be also Scoliocentra brachypterna (Lw). Maybe do you have another pic with lateral view ? Andrzej

Hello Andrzej,
No I could not get any other picture, the fly was on the ceiling of the cave, and not really accessible from where we stood. I have pictures of some other specimen, almost completely destroyed by a fungus, by the way.
Thanks for commenting
Philippe

"Maybe" I can identify the specimen to the species level by a head capsule seen laterally ... Andrzej ;)
