Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Phoridae (scuttle fly) Megaselia rufipes?

Found this one doing what scuttle flies do, scuttling around on my kitchen window. A couple of minutes in the freezer slowed it down for a bit...Correct ID & a male?

Size...just under 4mm.

Hmm..A couple of wise guys huh? Maybe the last photo inspired your somewhat tongue-in-cheek replies :P:P:P

Actually I had seen this type before and had it ID'd by Tony Irwin and Brian Brown...so in card playing terms..I was working with a rigged deck |t. Also have a couple of pics from that thread in the Gallery.

As for the background..I had the fly in the freezer for about 4 minutes and didn't really expect it to do an impersonation of Lazarus whan I set it on graph paper [2mm squares] to get an idea of size without having to actually measure it.
