Hi,
Recently I watched some small black flies behaving like Sepsids but with a different wing pattern. I suppose they are Ulidiidae. Please help with ID!
Many thanks, Sundew

Rivellia syngenesiae, Platystomatidae. On Fabaceae (larvae eat azobacterian root nodules)

Wow - a new family for my collection (now I have 72)! I wonder why I have not seen one before, as Fabaceae is a very common family. And it is funny to learn how many small flies mimic Sepsids (or vice versa :D?) Thank you very much, dear Valery.

They guys all mimic ants. That's life...

But only in a very short span of their life ants are able to perform wing waving ;).
