Deciduous woodland, no conifers. Oxfordshire, UK.
12 May 2012.

Syrphus or Parasyrphus, with lunulate markings close to the front of tergites 3,4. Don't think I've seen one like this before, with legs 1 and 2 more yellow than P. punctulatus for instance.

The frons looks like that of Syrphus nitidifrons, but that's rare in the UK. What else could it be?
