Syrphidaee family,
Eristalis genus.
Can you please give me the specific ID?
Location: Madonie Mountains, Sicily, Italy
Altitude: 1400 mt
Date: June, 06 th 2009
Size: About 11 mm long

No, I don't think this is pertinax.
It has much more the looks of Eristalis arbustorum, but it also could be Eristalis abusiva. Not to tell from this picture.
