Hi,
I take the photo on 28 March 2012 Kokkola, Finland.
Can anyone suggest a species this 4mm fly (Birch tree forest)?

Regards Pentti.

Thank you nisse!
Could it be a female of Earomyia lonchaeoides?

Hi Pennti

clearly a male Earomyia lonchaeoides your excellent photo of the underside of the abdomen shows the genitalial pouch with the male genitalia.
Could I possibly use this photo to illustrate this species on my website ?

best wishes ... Iain

I'd prefer it if 'owners' would submit their own pictures using the link under 'Gallery Links'in the left column. When they do that, the images will be published in the galelry under their own rather than mine... Moreover, the owners are usually the eprsons having the best knowledge of what additional information is useful to add. ;)
