Hello,
While chopping wood of birch, fine mines in the wood became evident, diameter app. 2 mm. In one of the mines a larva was found, unfortunately decapitated. Therefore only the rear end may be used for identification. The “tail” with “teeth” and “hairs” seem to be characteristic – however, I have no idea!
Maybe it is not the organism causing the mines (I thought this could be a bark-beetle), but a predator?
Thank you for ID or any further suggestion, where to search …
Found in mines in birch wood, 18th of Feb 202, northwest Germany.
