Another fly that I thought might have been Anthomyia, but seems similar in many respects to its predecessor which turned out to be a probable Limnoph[or]a.

Hi Will! Limnophila is a cranefly - I think you mean Limnophora ;)

You are right that this should be Muscidae.

Nice to see all your pictures from Chongwe. I was at Mungwi (near Kasama) for my gap year (in 1966-7 :o)

Oh dear, I've done it again... the other day, I asked if a Scoliid wasp (probably Micromeriella) was Micromelia - which google informs me is a medical condition. Correcting title. Thanks.

It is Lispe of Lispe longicollis species group. I can't say more with this image only.

It's not a great image, so I'm a little awestruck that you can tell me what it is to species group from this. I wish I'd got a picture of the wings before it flew off...
