Seems a
Hammerschmidtia ferruginea to me... don't know if
ingrica might occur in Canada, but that species has short haired arista, whereas
ferruginea has plumose arista.

Thanks Andre, That's the one I had spotted as a possible.
I'll check my other photos for "plumosity" :)
BTW, is Hammershmidtia the currently accepted name ?

Brachyopa sp. Habitus doesn't fit Hammerschmidtia
