Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Possible Atherigona sp. (USA: Florida) - Atherigona reversura

Collected a number of these, both males and females, at UV light (June 10, 2011) in Charlotte County, Florida, USA. Males are similar but the more anterior abdominal spots are more elongate, and the females have slightly darker legs. Following are pictures of the female, can post male images if it would be helpful.

Edit: Could this be the Bermudagrass stem maggot, Atherigona reversura, relatively new to the SE United States?

Identified by Cecil Smith at the University of Georgia as Atherigona reversura Villeneuve. An Asian species recently found in the southeastern U.S.
