This individual was in a hotel garden on a hot, sunny day. I got just 3 shots. The bright sunlight was rather harsh but I think there may be enough detail to permit specialist recognition. I got as far as it not having the
Bombylius type of proboscis, nor any dark wing patterning and it not having the short cross-veins of
Anthrax.
I have spent some time trying to post the images and changing their sizes. I give up!

So far as I could judge, it was of a similar size to
Bombylius major. The cropped images posted are equivalent to about twice life size on the sensor.
