I think this dull looking moth is Geometridae sp. I've looked through a bunch of photos on the net, but found no close match. Probably because it is so dull ... Is it possible to id? From midwest Sweden 2006-07-07.

It's a noctuid moth,
Euclidia glyphica. The late time shows in the very worn condition of the moth. Unlike most noctuids it flies during the days - I cannot recall ever catching it in flight at night.

Thank you very much Jere. This must be very worn. I have another photo of this species, or at least I think I have, and that one is very colorful in the brownish spectra ...

It is normally a rather rich chocolate brown with yellow highlight in the hind wings.

Hmm, sound like I've perhaps made a mistake ... Look at the
Euclidia glyphica photos in Artportalen.

Ok, thanx Louis. Perhaps I didn't make a mistake. On the other photo the moth doesn't show the hind wings that has the yellow markings ...
