Hello forum,

I really got stuck on this (common) one. App 8 mm. oct. 2006 East of Holland. Landscape with fields and brushes. Could it be Fanniidae?

Thanks,

Why Fannidae?
I'd say Muscidae, at least Anthmyiidae.
My guess (only guess) - may be near Limnophora?

Hi Nikita and all others,

I ran the key again (very slowly) and indeed ended up with Anthomyiidae. Could you go to genus level (possibilities?).

Hi Kahis,

Thanks. So Faniidae after all. Sometimes first thoughts are the best. Problem is you never know when sometimes is :(. And I think I twisted the key the second time to end up with Anthomyiidae. Wrong!
