I collected this fly in scrubland (principally Broom sp., lavander, Cistus sp.) in the north-east of Portugal on the 4th of May of this year. It is approximately 4-5 mm in length
I believe it is a Tephritidae and possibly a Tephritis sp. (looking through the forum and gallery the most similar species I could find was Tephritis praecox).
Could someone please confirm the genus for me and maybe id the species if possible?

Thanks.

Tephritis sp. of the dioscurea-nigricauda group. This is a male, and also further details (e.g. setulae on R4+5 vein) are not visible.actually, it could be IDd as "Tephritis cf. nigricauda"
