Hello!

Some days ago in another thread a Tachina lurida was posted. Today I found a rather similar, but not identical (?) fly here in Ostwestfalen/Germany. Is it also a Tachina species? It was a little bit smaller than the frequent T. fera.

Definitely a tachinid ... and looks like T.lurida to me. In England i'd have said it was a very late record for this species but in the Central European key it says they fly 'early April to mid June'.

Thank you very much! Many species (not only flies) are a little bit late this year, maybe because of the cold temperatures in March.

I agree: it is Tachina (subgenus Servillia if you like) lurida.
You record is late indeed, but in The Netherlands I have three records even later (up till the beginning of July).

Thanks for sharing the nice picture
