Photographed 25.06.2011 in Bodø, northern Norway. Size approx. 4-5 mm. Think it's difficult to see the difference between some Muscidae and Anthomyiidae on photos, but think this looks like Hebecnema sp. in the gallery.

Thricops : the blunt inner spine at apex of hind tibia mean T. cunctans or T. nigritellus.
I'd say T. nigritellus (3 post dc ?). Nikita is the expert of this genus.

Thanks. Think I'll have to get better photos of hind legs? These seems to be very common, so could do that.

Have taken more photos, hope it's the same species... Size is 5 mm (found in the same area). Was a bit tricky to get the legs in the right positon, never tried this before... Just want to learn a bit about how to ID flies, so will try to get this to species if it is possible.

I misunderstood, thought dc's was on the legs. Checked with a thread here on the forum which explains the abbrevations. Didn't know "dc" means "dorsocentral". Hope I got it right this time, it is 3 postsutural dc on the fly, so it is Thricops nigritellus?

Photo of fly from above, not sure if I've counted correctly, totally new to this...

Easier to see on this photo, should be 3 postsutural dc :)
