Hi,
This grey Muscid I saw in Austria, Tyrol, Niederthai (1.500 m) in last August. I reckon I see the "
Phaonia bristle" on the hind tibia, but can a species name be given?

Azelini also have "Phaonia bristle".
I think it is female Drymeia vicana

That's very interesting! A new genus for me. However, the species description on Joke van Erkelens' website
http://www.dipter...ecies.html is a bit different. The hairs on the eyes of my fly are very short, and also the setae on midtibia and hind legs do not fit her description. It seems that the arista of my fly is a bit plumose (though it is not clearly seen in all the pics - alas!), and that seems to differ from the photo by Walter Gritsch (
http://www.fugleo...p?ID=64589). So who is right?

I would expect more than 1 strong pd on t3 in
Drymeia. A female
Thricops I would say.

As far as I can see and say as a non-dipterologist,
