Hi,
Yesterday I watched a tiny Agromyzid ovipositing in a
Solidago canadensis leaf. Genus should be
Liriomyza.
Liriomyza pusilla is said to be a leaf miner of Asteraceae taxa (
Aster, Bellis, less often
Solidago), so is it possible to confirm this species?
Many thanks in advance, Sundew

Meanwhile I got a message by Milos Cerny saying: "This is Liriomyza pusilla. On Solidago sp. mining two similar species L. eupatorii and L. pusilla. Liriomyza eupatorii closely resembles L. pusilla but the scutum appears consistently less shining.
There is apparent difference in male terminalia."
So the species is confirmed - many thanks, Milos!
