UK, Suffolk. 24th June 2010
Open woodland and grass on sandy soil. Size 7mm approx
I'm puzzled with this, maybe its an aberrant Ocytata pallipes - m vein partially complete in left wing and complete in the right one. Compare with ....
http://www.dipter...d_id=38398
It isn't Solieria as there are discal bristles on the tergites and it isn't Hebia as there are 3ad bristles on the middle tibia. There is no apical pair of bristles on the scutellum, not even a pore, which conflicts with Ocytata - so over to the experts!
