UK, Suffolk. 3rd May 2011.
Open woodland and grass on sandy soil. Size 7 mm approx
I think this is
Ocytata pallipes?

The broken median vein is usually fairly conclusive but
Ocytata is a pale brown fly with orange legs, which makes if fairly unusual for a tachinid. :)
