Dear Forum,

Is this a larva of a fly or....?

The larva lost it white skin and has already turned into a pupa.

I think this larvae of a moth, because of pseudo legs on abdomen and cocoon! :)

Of course I think second picture is another Lepidopter, because it has a cremaster and it is chrysalid, then I guess second picture is a kind of butterfly! :)

Okay I thought it must me something else than a butterfly or moth. Silly me :)
Maybe because there was a fly sitting on it.

We shall see what will come out of the pupa.

Thanks Sara.

Looks like a parasitoid... Ichneumonoidea?

If the larva only has one pair of prolegs in addition to the anal claspers, then it's a larva of one of the Geometrid moths. That narrows it down to about 350 species if we're dealing with a member of the UK fauna. :)
