I mistook this initially for a hoverfly, because its hovering. Silly me! Can anyone confirm my second guess, Ophyra spec.?

In my experience, most hovering calypterates are Fannia, but this one looks to have a metallic colouration, so Ophyra may be more likely.
The second fly is Lonchaeidae. (It has no suture across the thorax, so is an acalypterate.)

Ophyra can also hover persistently, in my experience.

Keep on a lookout, though, for the Syrphid Psilota (very rare !)
is quite intermediate between the Ophyra and Lonchaeidae shown here.
