Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Small, unknown (18.04.11) --> Neoascia cf. podagrica

Hello!

A 7 mm female with marked hind legs from a hedge yesterday (northwest Germany). Could it be Melanostoma sp.? There were many males of that genus around (second pic, M. mellinum?), but this was the only female.

I'd say the top picture is a Neoascia, perhaps podagrica.
