Found these flies very close to the beach. Length approx. 5-7 mm.
First one photographed 16.04.2011, second 08.04.2011, both in Bodø, northern Norway at the same area.

Possibly Scathophaga? Looks similar to some of them in the gallery (Scathophaga calida, but slightly different??).

Another one, photographed 8. april. Was plenty of these in piles of seaweed lying close to the beach.

Same species? Did only get this photo, was not sitting much still.

Thank you :) I was a bit unsure about family for these flies, but thougt they were Scatophagidae...

Both of them are Fucellia sp.?

I think the first one is F. fucorum. Much less sure about the second, but I think perhaps it could be F. maritima or F. tergina. Stephane knows about these ;)

The last one is a Scathophagidae, I guess Scathophaga litorea, but a bigger photo is needed since there are others on sea-side.

Yes, I thought the second one was Scathophagidae too... But I didn't get close enough for a bigger photo.

Thanks to both of you for identifications, is it possible to confirm the first one as Fucellia fucorum based on the photo?

From Norway, there are two other species, F. griseola and F. signata that are unknown to me, so I daren't confirm anything.

Thank you again, guess this will be Fucellia sp.
