Hello, a few days ago I took this images in Northern Germany, the lenght was about 10 mm. How far could it be identified? Thanks a lot and best wishes, Frank

Tanypodinae, probably Macropelopiini or Anatopynia. Last revision of European species of which I am aware:

Ernst Josef Fittkau 1962, Die Tanypodinae (Diptera: Chironomidae) (Die Tribus Anatopyniini, Macropelopiini und Pentaneurini)

I'm not sure if Professor Fittkau is still working; he is still on the list of Chiromonidae workers at http://insects.um...t_big.html.
