The Sarcophagidae are never metallic coloured. This is a Calliphoridae : it seems to be a female of
Protocalliphora, and the infuscated lower calypter would suggest
P. azurea, but the females of this species are usually greenish rather than deep blue, so I am not sure.

This is very similar to one of my flies here:
http://www.dipter...d_id=34960. There Roger Thomason suggested
P. azurea for that, but I thought that their females were supposed to be greenish rather than blue.

Well we only have 1 species here
Genus: Protocalliphora Hough, 1899
Contains:
Species: Protocalliphora azurea (Fallén, 1817)
so it must be this
The thorax seems greenish-blue! she's a beauty anyway and hopefully I'll see a few more this year
