Hello,
these two flies were copulating on a trunk in the sun. They were found in a open deciduous forest in the region of Marburg (Germany/Hesse; March 2011). Is it possible to determine the specie (maybe familiy or genus)? Thank you very much for attention!
Stefan

Welcome to the forum Stefan :) I'd guess they are family Muscidae but wait and someone better will come along to add more :)

Hello Chris, hello Nikita,
thank you very much for your fast answers :-)!
Lispocephala brachialis looks very good.
It should be a common specie in Middle Europe?
Regards
Stefan
