hi flyforum,
Today I found this sciara(?) sp. on a tree trunk with moss.
Size ~ 4-7mm
place: Amsterdam forest
date: 24-02-2011
What kind of species is this?
Is it Mycetophilidae?
greeting Robert

Not
Sciara or Sciaridae. Mycetophilidae s.l., probably Mycetophilidae s.s.
Sciaridae have an eye bridge (except in wingless species) and have smaller tibial spurs and coxae.

Yes, Mycetophilidae s. str., but unfortunately no plain view of wing veins. Nice live shot!
