Hello,

this Rhagionidae is from last july from about 1500m in Switzerland. As lenght I wrote down estimated 8mm. What is it?

Thanks,
Michael

Hello,

does noone have an idea? My guess would be genus Chrysopilus. But there seem to be only few species with clear wings and vague pterostigma. The pictures of Chrysopilus flaveolus look different. About C. alpicola and can't find any information.

Is at least Chrysopilus correct?

Chrysopilus it is, but I am not comfortable doing alpine ones...

It looks like Chrysopilus, but the anal cell seems to be open.

SO I am very confused, that is why I did not respond

Thank you for your answers. I will let it open. What a pity - such a nice fly.

If you should have any additional picture, no matter how bad, please post it.

I'say anal cells in both wings are closed.

Hello,

here is another picture from a slightly different perspective.

In the right wing, it is 'clearly' open, as I suspected, in the left it is closed.
So, we are dealing with an aberration.

Chrysopilus it is.

The second image is deceptive. Look at the crop of the first image and you'll see that both cells are closed.

Thank you again for your effort. Both cells are closed now means what? That Chrysopilus sp. is certain?
