Rather large, thickly hairy eyes, plumose arista, wider than 3rd ant. seg., sternopleurals 2:2, any postdosals on hind tibia only about 1.2 width of tibia, dark hairs on scutellum margins below bristles and paler hairs underneath scutellum, cluster of fine hairs below spiracle on hypopleuron; no presut. acros, 4 post d/c's, head very narrow front to back.

With such a precise description, you should have the answer, haven't you ?

Stephane, I presume you favour evecta? My problem was that the hairs below the scutellum seemed pale rather than dark as required and the outer cross-vein infuscation was very slight. The hairs may have been dark enough under ideal lighting conditions - I see that no species has the scutellum hairs exactly as I descibed. Is this right?

If there are hairs under scutellum, and not only at the ventral margin, I would consider it is H. evecta. Are av present also on basal half of hind femur ?

Stephane, there is a long line of a/v's on the apical 80% on hind femora (out of focus below leg) but not in basal 20%. Is that sufficient?

Phil

It is sufficient (with the previous characters).
