Certainly Dolichopus. I guess signifer, but some characters are obscure.

Thanks Igor
signifer is unrecorded in this neck of the woods. Which characters are required? I have a few more photo's of this fly.
Parts needing to be shown described in language understandable to an idiot (me) please!
Regards Roger.

I need wing, hind femur, antennal segment 1 etc. Roger, If you really need new species records, please catch flies.

Hi Igor
I have emailed you the other photo's. Don't think it will help much, but you never know.
I don't actively seek out new species, if they are found and are identifiable from photo's on here then good and well. I did set some YPT's last year with mixed results....

1. The flies and liquid were consumed by next doors cat. :|
2. The flies were eaten by young Blackbirds from a nest in my garden. ;)
3. The flies which were caught were rinsed to remove traces of washing up liquid and set on tissue paper to dry in readiness to be photographed...returned an hour later to find about 40 live flies on the kitchen window, only 2 or 3 still on the tissue paper. :S SWMBO....:o.

Regards from the Doghouse. (still)
