what about this syrphid? ID possible? Hagen, NRW, Germany, July 8th 2010, beech forest, 150msm,

Yes, could be Eupeodes latifasciatus (Macquart, 1829).

I would think it's Eupeodes corollae, male. However, there might be a similar species in Germany I am not aware of.
