Thread subject: Diptera.info :: [ID] Larvae on fungus

Could someone point me in the right direction for this one please...I found several, they where on what looks to be a silken web (slime?) covering over fungus growths under rotten conifer logs. Size varied from about 3/4 inch to 1 inch. They moved around by contracting waves up their body.

They where found in October 2009 South Wales. I have had a few suggestions, Hoverfly, Snipefly and Fungus Gnat. They do seem to behave like Fungus Gnats, but surely the size would rule these out?

Regards Christian.
